  • Autogas Refueling Infrastructure Incentive Program & Refueling Loactor

The goal of the Refueling Infrastructure Incentive Program is to increase the number of Self- Service Public-Access refueling facilities for propane vehicles across the state of MN. Possible locations of such a facility would be:

    • At an existing gas station/convenience store with the dispenser located on an island similar to the gas and diesel pumps
    • At an existing gas station/convenience store located as a separate unit, but highly visible
    • At an existing gas station/convenience store, where a propane cylinder dispenser is currently located, and is modified to include an Autogas dispenser unit.
    • All locations must allow for 24 hour refueling capability.

Once you have your refueling station in place or if you are running on autogas and need to find a filling station that provides autogas - CLICK HERE to find a location near you and/or to add your location to the list for autogas refueling.

  • School Bus Incentive Program

$4,000 incentive for the purchase of a NEW propane school bus.

96% NOx Reduction with Propane vs Clean Diesel.

    Faster Refueling Time:
Propane Autogas Bus = 13 minutes
Electric Bus = up to 6 hours

    More Range:
    Propane = 400 + miles
Electric – up to 120 miles

  • Vehicle Incentive Program

$4,000 incentive for the conversion of gasoline vehicles to propane.

Propane’s carbon footprint is smaller than almost any alternative –
Fuel Type                            Carbon Intensity (g CO2/MJ)
    Diesel                                               105
    EV                                                       93
    Natural Gas                                      87

    Propane/NG                                     79
    Renewable LPG                               45

  • Irrigation Engine Incentive Program

$300 per liter for 2018 model year or newer irrigation engines (purchase new or conversion of gasoline engine)

Propane irrigation engines reduce sulfur oxide, nitrogen oxide, and greenhouse gas emissions by the % indicated in the chart below.

    Fuel Type            SOX                        NOx                       GHG
    Electric                  73%
    Gasoline              17%                       20%                       18%
    Diesel                                                    9%                          8%
